Meet The Team

Reagan Carnwath BVMS MRCVS

Holistic veterinary medicine is my passion and treating animals in a way that I would want my own animals to be treated is important to me. Within my practice, my aim is always to get to the root cause of my patient’s problem and treat that rather than only treating the symptoms seen.

I am a member of the British Association of Veterinary Herbalists, International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and the Treasurer of the Raw Feeding Veterinary Society.

I hope that we can promote this holistic approach to veterinary care in Scotland. I will take the time to understand every aspect of an animal’s life including its bond with you and treat your pet with natural medicine, care, and respect.

For me, working in this way is much more than just a job. It’s about integrating ancient and modern techniques to provide safe and effective therapies that improve the health and welfare of animals committed to my care.

TESTIMONIALS

"Reagan has been a ray of sunshine after a very stressful few months. On a personal level she showed real empathy for both us and Brewster, our dog and has his best interests and quality of life at the forefront of her concern. On a professional level, her veterinary knowledge and understanding of alternative therapies is second to none. We are absolutely delighted with the service we received and Brewster was so chilled during our consultation, he fell asleep. First time ever!

We look forward to introducing Reagan to our other 3 dogs in the future as we will be using her services from now on."

I was lucky to have spent my childhood and much of my young adult life in the company of horses, dogs, cats, and wildlife. It was this time that kindled my passion for all four-legged creatures and sparked my desire to help and support them in any way I could.

After graduating from the University of Glasgow I completed an equine internship at the Royal Veterinary College in London and then spent several years in first opinion practice. It was during this time that I found myself searching more and more for the root cause of my patient's problems, evaluating their lifestyles and diets, and looking for treatments to support them, rather than simply treating their symptoms.

When I discovered traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture a switch flicked, finally I felt able to treat my patients in a way I felt they deserved. From here my passion for holistic therapies has grown, I hold a certificate and a diploma from the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies in Veterinary Western Herbal Medicine.

I grow many medicinal plants in my garden at home, combining my love for herbal medicine with that of gardening, often using the results to treat friends and family.
